What makes an event memorable? It’s you.

January 31, 2012

Well, there’s one main thing that makes an event memorable – people around you.

Event organizers are “experience makers”. Their job is to put people into situations where they can experience wonderful things – amazement, bliss, hopefulness, excitement… Those things then make it easier to have interactions with other people and they act as anchors to remember them. Yeah, magic acts, rock bands and adrenalin rides are nice, however their job is being a backdrop for interactions with other people at the event. Imagine any given event that you think was memorable – a conference, a panel, a concert, a team-building exercise … now imagine that you were the only person in the audience. How much is left of that event?
